The Phoenix Male Voice Choir, based in Norwich (in Nelson's County of Norfolk),
is a friendly, enthusiastic, community group of around 30 men
(plus Sarah Sheldrake, our talented female Musical Director!)
meeting regularly to enjoy practising repertoire and rehearsing for performances.
Performing several times a year in Norwich and further afield,
we produce our own full length concerts and are also pleased to hear of
opportunities to support other ventures and festivals, and to appear by invitation.
We were pleased to be Special Guests of 'The People's Soprano' Rebecca Newman
at her 2012 and Spring 2016 Norwich appearances.
Our concert items feature traditional male voice choir standards,
well-known ballads, sacred, secular, festive and seasonal, showsongs,
the Great American Song Book and extended features, fantasies and classics.
Concerts often include a variety of individual and group contributions
from among our own enthusiastic membership!
If you are interested in taking an active role in our choir, why not join us?
Membership involves a modest fee, being up for a challenge and a desire to do well!
We rehearse most Thursdays (7.30pm to 9.45pm) at Mile Cross Methodist Church,
Aylsham Road, Norwich NR3 2RU. If you are male, over 18, hold a tune and enjoy singing
(no specialist skill or ability to read music required!),
join us at one of our open rehearsals - you will be most welcome!
Otherwise we look forward to meeting you at one of our concert appearances!
